McConaghy Boats Introduces MC-ZERO 450

Attendees of this week’s Palm Beach International Boat Show can experience the world premiere of the MC-ZERO 450. The new electric tender from McConaghy Boats and ZeroJet represents the flagship of McConaghy’s new line, MC-ZERO Tenders.

The MC-ZERO 450 features a rigid carbon hull and a patent pending ‘moveable helm.’ The builder’s goal is to give boaters the versatility of increased deck space and provide a stable and spacious platform. McConaghy utilized fly-by-wire technology to create a modular deck that owners can use to transform the vessel from a guest shuttle to complete gear-hauler in minutes.

Twin electric jets provide full redundancy, which large vessels cruising in remote locations sometimes need. ZeroJet 30kW electric drives—equivalent to roughly 80 hp—propel the MC-ZERO 450. The setup is powered by the latest 48V SAFIERY 32.4kWh solid-state battery system. That equates to quiet, clean propulsion designed specifically for modern yacht tenders.

“Traditional vessels are restricted by fixed layouts and protruding engine boxes,” said Chris Baird, CEO of MC-ZERO. “We’ve engineered the 450 from a clean sheet to remove these legacy compromises, allowing the boat to adapt to the user, rather than the other way around.”

MC-ZERO wants to create tenders that maximize space and feature smart functionality. At the bow, the MC-ZERO 450 features electric drop-down steps for stable passenger access on or off the boat. The steps are easy to deploy and maintain the boat’s clean profile when closed. At the stern of this jet boat tender, a fully actuating electric transom deploys at the push of a button. That extends the deck and creates a wide, stable platform.
